Earlier this week I had the pleasure of working with Lois-Jade, a 25 year old freelance model based in Cheshire, on location at Parklands Studio.
Lois and I had already worked together on several occasions in the past, but mainly in the studio as the predictably inclement weather had always prevented us from utilising the location to any great extent.
On this occasion however, with the sunshine finally breaking through, we decided to capture some images in the 3 acre lake that makes up part of the location at Parklands Studio.
Shooting on location is never easy, however…
For photographers, the ever-changing environment is extremely challenging, and a thorough understanding of how to utilise the available light is required, as well as an ability to quickly manipulate your cameras settings in accordance with natures fluctuations.
For models on location, especially in cold conditions where the amount of time in front of the lens has to be extremely short, fundamentals such as posing and expression can be incredibly difficult to either perform or maintain.
In fact, it’s fair to say that not all models are ‘suited’ to the rigours of location photoshoots, however Lois-Jade did remarkably well in lake at Parklands Studio, and the images that we managed to capture hopefully show a model who is extremely conformable on location.
